A year to remember

It was the perfect end to his brilliant 2012. After three titles in Challengers tournaments (Manta, Campinas and Salinas) and access for the first time a Grand Slam, Guido Pella added the victory in the Challenger Tour Finals, an event which brought together the seven best players of the season in this type of events.

The victory over Romanian Adrian Ungur, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7 in the tie break), 7-6 (7-4) in last game allowed him to achieve what is perhaps the most importan trophy of his career and the chance to among the top 100 players in the world.

During his road to success, Pella beat Thomaz Bellucci (4-6, 7-6, 7-5), the Spanish Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo (7-6, 6-2) in the group stage (Ungur fell by 4-6, 7-6, 7-6) in semifinals sidelined while Romanian Victor Hanescu (7-6, 6-2)
