Broke the spell

Guido Pella broke the spell in Buenos Aires and took the ticket to second round in Copa Claro. The 23 years old player knocked out Spaniard Guillermo García López (56°), 7-6 (6), 6-4.

Pella, who recieved a wild card for this tournament, claim his first tour level win of the year and bounced back from a loss in his 2013 opener.

The Bahía Blanca borned played a convinvcing match, winning 81% of the points with his first service and hitting two of his seven break points opportunities.

Pella rallied a 5-3 disadvantage and took the first set in very tied tie break. In second set, Guido capitalised his chance in seventh game and although he dismissed two MP, he could close the match with his service.

On Wednesday, Guido will face Spaniard Tommy Robredo (third seed), who defeated his countryman Pablo Carreño Busta 6-4, 6-4.
